Nil by mouth

Roger Ebert had salivary gland cancer, and now cannot speak, eat, or drink.

Yet in his inimitable way, he manages to make the best of it. Amazing piece.

Roger Ebert is an amazing writer. I haven't checked his blog in quite a while - my loss. Thanks for redirecting me. This piece brought me to tears. Roger Ebert IS Chicago! Hats off to a very brave and insightful man.
