Scent of a woman

What perfume did Princess Diana wear?

Seems like a simple question, but like most of us, she had numerous scents.

24 Faubourg by Hermes (which appears to date to just two years before her death)

Mitsouko by Guerlain

Isis, supposedly created for her by William Owen III (although one comment says it dates to 1970, so how could it have been created for her? She was 9 then.)
L'air du Temps by Nina Ricci
Royal Delight by Creed

Royal Water by Creed, created for her
Quelques Fleurs by Houbigant (supposedly worn on her wedding day)

Heritage by Guerlain

Bluebell by Penhaligon's

Annick Goutal L'eau d'Hadrien

I would much rather smell like Diana than eat her hair in jam. Just sayin'

Number five is alive

Does Chanel No. 5 owe its disctinctive and famed scent to a mistake?

Wikipedia discusses the idea that the fragrance's composition is due to a mixing error, but pretty much discounts that, saying it's too perfectly mixed to be a mistake.

I don't mind the scent, but only in small doses. Also, I think I'm biased by the fact that it's been around forever and I kind of associate it with elderly ladies. Not as much as Joy, though.

Scent of success?

I've never even heard of the cologne Gendarme, but apparently it is or was worn by Dolly Parton, Rod Stewart, Bill Clinton, Billy Dee Williams, Frank Gifford, George Bush, Joe Montana, Tom Cruise and the late Rodney Dangerfield. You go, Dolly, wearing a men's cologne.

Close enough

I'm kind of embarrassed to admit I bought perfume at the Gap, but darn if their newest scent, Close, isn't one of my new favorites.

The scent reportedly citrus salt, almond blossom, spring freesia, jasmine petals, daphne, dewy stephanotis, light vanilla, creamy sandalwood, skin musk and a crowning drop of amber. That sounds like a mess of way too many scents, but it's crisp and clear and clean, and I love it.
