A far cry from Kelly Kapoor
Mindy Kaling from "The Office" has a sweet essay in the NY Times about how a random comment spurred her to invent a fake family.

Wedding bells for Pam & Jim
Pam & Jim from "The Office" have a fun wedding site.
I like the registry (so far, no one's purchased them that Porsche 911) and the photos, which include the whole Dunder-Mifflin crew.
The guestbook comments from the other characters are also entertaining.

The Office bobblemania
Wow, all of the major characters on "The Office" are getting bobblehead dolls. I'm not quite sure who would buy a bobblehead of Andy or Toby, even though I do love their characters. Some of them look more like the actors than others. The Pam bobblehead is pretty uncannily Jenna Fischer.

Ain't no party like a Scranton party
I just got a kick out of this: "The Office" is hosting a prop drop, asking people in Scranton, Pa., where the show is set, to drop off Scrantonabilia that the show can use on its set.
You need to drop off three of each item, but what a fun way to get your goofy Scranton company on national TV. I do notice the Scranton radio bumper stickers and other items they already use on the set, so this strikes me as a pretty smart idea.

You can call me al....capella
Although Andy and Angela are broken up on "The Office." their wedding Web site is still alive, and a total hoot.
The blend of Pachelbel's Canon and "You Can Call Me Al" is sheer genius, but don't miss the tour of Shrute Farms, the bit about Angela's eight cats as ring bearers, and the photo of her dress.

"Office" fun
Rolling Stone's top 25 moments from "The Office."
While they do have a Ben Franklin moment, I have to say one of my favorite moments from the whole show is not Pam pointing out that Franklin has syphilis, but Dwight quizzing him to see if he's the real deal. ("WHO IS THE KING OF PRUSSIA?")
(Via Office Tally.)

You can't beat Dwight Schrute's beets
This will only make sense to fans of "The Office," especially those who saw last night's show, but...reviews of Schute Farms on TripAdvisor.com.
The first review is the Jim/Pam review from the show, but read back through the others. Show fans totally got into the spirit of it, as with this one: "And as for the proprietor, I believe his name is Dwight, he is very knowledgeable and will tell you all about Benjamin Franklin, bats, and the history of paper if you ask him. But be careful, if you ask if he can take your laundry he just snarls and says something incoherent like "I have no longer betrayed you, I don't have to do your laundry Michael..."

The past and future Creed
At the TV Critics' summer press tour this July, I got to chat with a number of cast members from "The Office," one of whom was Creed Bratton, who enthusiastically reminisced about his days with the Grass Roots.
Here's a fun video of him (striped sweater) with them on a variety show of some sort, introduced by the legendary Jimmy Durante.

But the little cars go in the compact spot
Hooray, "The Office" returns tonight. That's got to be my favorite show these days, and I met a few of the cast members at TCA this summer, and they were all just as nice as you'd hope.
Here are the hilarious lyrics to Dwight and Michael's "Lazy Sunday" parody, "Lazy Scranton," and the video itself, just to get you in the mood.
"You lack coal mines and you wanna see ‘em...
Well, check it out, yo, the Anthracite Museum!"
