Candy corn Oreos

Oh yeah, this is the stuff of a true OLD SCHOOL PCJM post. Weird food.

Candy-corn Oreos? They'll be available Monday. Someone needs to taste them and report back.

Eyeball cookies

Oh, man, bookmarking these eyeball cookies for next Halloween. I love the bigger ones best. (Via Not Martha.)

Chew on this

If all 32 NFL teams were Halloween candy, Vikes would be... Bazooka gum?

The Seahawks comparison is actually funnier. And true.

I vant to paint your Dracula head

This Halloween countdown post from X-E is six years old, but it cracks me up. Matt reacquainted himself with a paint-your-own-Dracula-head kit that he had but wrecked as a kid, and gave it a shot.

Great lines from Matt's writeup: "I distinctly remember painting the thing outside, on one of those hot days where everyone in the family lays in the backyard like giant, gregarious sloths."

"I was a damned proud Dracula, living the role of the undead, carefully manifesting my temporarily ghoulish persona as the only boy in school who would chew raw meat on a dare,"

Choco-lanterns

Matt of X-E already wrote about these, and now they're at my local store. (Did not buy.)
Also in my store: Pop-Tart containers. What? How in the world are these necessary. As this woman says, they are a complete example of Useless Plastic Crap.

Help meeeeee

Wow, how awesome are these creepy Halloween cupcakes? I don't exactly have any disembodied baby-doll arms lying around, but they're probably all of 5 cents at the thrift store.

Witchy woman

I'm writing a lot about horror movies this month, and someone suggested "Black Sunday" (not the Super Bowl one) as one of the scariest old movies. Dude, they brand the witch AND nail a mask to her face and that's before the credits even roll!

You can watch the first nine minutes here.

And here's a tribute to star Barbara Steele.

Halloween crafts

Halloween is the most fun holiday as far as crafts--they're creepy and usually easy to make.

I love the cornstarch-food coloring blood that drips down these glasses, and these Nutter Butter mummies.

Pumpkin Pop-Tarts

Matt at X-Entertainment is pretty excited--he found two flavors of Halloween Pop-Tarts!

Choc-o-Lantern are really just chocolate Pop-Tarts with cool Halloween sprinkles and orange icing, but Pumpkin Pie Pop-Tarts presumably have some kind of gourd-lik flavor. Whatever. It's really the box that's the coolest.
He goes on to review something called the Pop-Tarts Graveyard, which just serves as a reminder that no holiday has weirder, more fun junk food than Halloween.

Halloween misc

Few sites make me laugh as reliably as Matt's X-Entertainment. His Halloween Countdown is always fabulous, and this grab-bag entry made me smile right when I needed it.

The Tootsie Roll martini looks seriously awesome, but this was the bit that cracked me up: "Finally, Crayola has brought back their “Crayon Treat Packs.” I haven’t seen these since 2003, though to be truthful, it’s not like I spent 2004-2008 actively hunting them. Okay, that’s a lie."

And don't miss the Bag Monster photo at the end of the entry. Awesome.

Meat hand!

I love Not Martha, but I could not eat this meat hand.

(Thanks to Linda for pointing it out!)

Spooky eats

A bunch of food bloggers posted delightfully fun Halloween dishes today as part of Trick-Or-Eat.

I love Not Martha's orange pumpkin pancakes with black cinnamon syrup and spiders. So gorgeous, so seasonal, so yummy looking!

I also love Recipe Girl's black cat cookies, with candy corn eyes!

Creepy games

Matt at X-E has found some super creepy games in his time.

The Nightmare on Elm Street game lets you kill people with their worst fears.

And this totally bizarre yet kind of cool spider game from 1988, Spider Wars!

Says Matt: "Since a single game of Spider Wars could conceivably last for seven hundred years otherwise, there’s a second way to win. You can skip past your opponent’s spiders and simply get one of your own spider’s legs into the opposing player’s “nest,” which is represented by a peg hole on the other side of the board. This speeds the game up manifold, but it’s pretty cheap to win just by getting to the other side of the board. True Spider Wars enthusiasts would never stoop so low, so for the sake of brevity, it’s a good thing there are no true Spider Wars enthusiasts."

Blue diamonds, and green clovers!

They're always after me Lucky Charms!

Terrifying Halloween costume that makes leprechauns as frightening as mimes.

Halloween horrors

Not Martha had some great Halloween links recently. A few I found there:

She also found this creepy staircase silhouette, which I'm 99% sure I could not assemble on my stairs correctly.

And these bloody candles are almost too easy to look as cool as they do.

Pricey Moon Pie

$9 is a LOT for a Moon Pie, even if it does have a skull on it.

Spooky

Ooh, I really want to see "Paranormal Activity."

It only helps that Roger Ebert likes it. (Are you following him on Twitter, because he is awesome!)
