If you think everything in your life has always been around, think again. My parents were full-on adults before they'd first tasted pizza, and Mom always reported that my dad took one bite and spat it out.
If he'd had this 1947 recipe, I kind of understand. Biscuit mix, cold cuts, sliced cheese and ketchup!
They also have to tell us how to pronounce "peet-sa," much like Taco Bell in the 1980s actually had pronunciations for "taco" and "burrito" on their menu boards. ("Tah-COH?")

I serve mine in my dishwasher-safe Bacon Bowls
And now there is such a thing as Marshmallow Peep-flavored milk .
Includes Egg Nog flavor, because it's always Christmas somewhere.
Seems like you'd need awfully small hands to milk a Peep, but then what do I know, my dad had only beef cattle.
Sadly/gladly, depending on your homeland:"PEEPS® milk is only available in the following Mid-western states: IL, IN, KY, MI, MO, MS, TN, SE WI, E IOWA and SW OH."
Friends in those states, you know what to do. (Move!)

Donuts go nuts
We don't have any Dunkin Donuts by us, so I won't be trying these -- they're international offerings anyway. But I love reading about weird flavors. Mango pudding! Pistachio! Date! And tons o' chocolate on top of chocolate iced with chocolate.

Most disgusting new food ever?
Is this the most disgusting new food ever? Can we even call it a food? Admittedly, I was an American kid, I ate my share of Spaghetti-Os, even the grossest ones with hot dogs and meatballs.
But CHEESEBURGER-FLAVORED Spaghetti-Os? What marketing genius got that one past the focus groups?

Watermelon Oreos
WHAT? In whose world did this sound like a good idea? Watermelon is great, Oreos are great, but the two together is like a peanut butter and Drano sandwich.
(Thanks to Lesley for the photo!)

Ch-ch-ch-ch cherry bomb
Have you ever seen maraschino cherries in colors other than red or maybe, MAYBE green?
This photo was in a BuzzFeed post about how maraschino cherries are made, which reads kind of like one of those Mister Rogers' Neighborhood "Picture, Picture" explanations of how things are made, only on this one, the narrator is obviously horrified.

Peanut-butter Pop Tarts
Hey, is this thing still on?
Sometimes you have to come out of hiding to recognize that they are now making peanut-butter and peanut-butter chocolate Pop Tarts. Which sound horrible to me, but horrible in a great pop-culturey way.
Also, this is part of some grand theory to appeal to adults? I don't get it.

Have never had a McFlurry, but these international flavors are so wild. Black licorice! Lime! Ovaltine! Kit Kat and strawberries!

Candy corn Oreos
Oh yeah, this is the stuff of a true OLD SCHOOL PCJM post. Weird food.
Candy-corn Oreos? They'll be available Monday. Someone needs to taste them and report back.

Voodoo Doughnuts
So we dogsat for Dan's pooch, Molly, and he thanked us with a dozen donuts from Voodoo Doughut, Portland's famed, quirky donut shop. Seriously, these are the ultimate pop-culture donuts ... check out the menu!
Sadly, we didn't get the voodoo doll one and Dan ate the maple-bacon one before he came by, but man, we had some great weird ones. The pink one had a piece of Dubble Bubble in the center and pink gum-flavored sugar. (I thought it was just pink Kool-Aid but it totally tastes like gum!) Captain My Captain has Captain Crunch, The Loop has Fruit Loops, Miami Vice is half pink and half blue like those 1980s pastels, Grape Ape has grape dust and purple sprinkles, Mango Tango has mango jam and TANG, the maple blazer was shaped like a joint, and there were many more. Thanks, Dan! (No, we didn't eat them all, but we sampled quite a few!)

Girl Scout Cookie Nestle Crunch
I bought five boxes of Girl Scout cookies to support the scout on our street, and brought them all to work so I wouldn't be tempted by them. So of course I have to share this -- a limited edition Nestle Crunch bar incorporating Thin Mints.
Wash it down with a Mint Sprite from China!

Revolting snacks of America
Christmas is revolting, and so are the elves!
Love the Revolting Snacks of America Tumblr. (Is it a Tumblr? A blog? A Tumblr blog? Anyway, it's one of my fellow Damn Hell Ass Kings, and deservedly so.)
Kelly has been known to eat those PB&J crackers, by the way.

Pumpkin marshmallows
In college, we took a journalism class called Persuasion in Writing, and as part of it had to make up a product and create ads for it. I was stumped for a product, and finally came up with flavored marshmallows, which I called Kissmallows. (My slogans were " a kiss...of cinnamon" or whatever the flavor was.)
And if I had seen these pumpkin marshmallows this Halloween, I not only would have bought them, but I'd have felt a little prouder about what I at the time thought was a stupid and desperate project idea.

Sugar Chex?
I'm familiar with Rice Chex and Corn Chex and all that, but SUGAR Chex? With Casper the Friendly Ghost nonetheless.
Green tea and chestnut Oreos
Not only does Japan has wacky Dorito flavors, but they now have green tea Oreos and chestnut-flavored Oreo candy bars. I bow to your flavor insanity, Land of the Rising Sun.
Japanese Doritos
So apparently in Japan, they have a series of Doritos flavors meant to go with wine. Because that's the kind of snack you want with wine.
The flavors include Tandoori Chicken and Lemon and Cheese Fondue and Garlic Toast.
So awesome. Reminds me of the time we were starving in a London pub and we asked them what flavor crisps (potato chips, to us) they had. They listed off some exotic flavors and one of them was "Doritos." To which we howled and informed the befuddled Brits that "Doritos is not a flavor."

Meet me at Toast Box
A rundown of interesting international fast-food places. I'm all about Singapore's Toast Box, with its signature dish described as crispy grilled kaya (coconut jam) toast with slices of butter, a soft-boiled egg and a mug of kopi (coffee).
