Give thanks that you weren't King Henry VIII's "Groom of the Stool." It does not mean anything involving horse grooms, and "stool" does not mean "a piece of furniture."
If you watched the season finale of the getting-more-bizarre-and-soapy-by-the-second "Tudors" (warning: audio) on Showtime this weekend, you saw one of the king's men having an equally gross royal responsibility in the opening scene.

Yes, I did see that bit - yucky! Groom of the stool - ugh...wouldn't you think the royals would develop some shame about someone seeing/dealing with their nethers and want to wash themselves? Ick!
Am I missing something? It didn't look like that person was taking care of stool. Is there another piece to that job description? Please explain.
I refuse to explain that scene because it was disgusting. I think "equally gross royal responsibility" says it all. Also, yuck.
