Plain Jane

Jane Magazine folded on Monday, and I wonder if many folks will miss it.

After Sassy, I tried, I really did, to like Jane, but it never came anywhere close to the original. It felt too much like the woman's magazine cliches Sassy mocked. I read a few issues, but it felt like a fake replacement, and I never got into it.

I will miss it. I was a new reader only 2 issues in! Was really enjoying it! I had no idea that it was going down hill since Jane left. I guess I'm not sure what the demographic was for it, but I felt it was matching me quiet well!

Jane lost me when they gave a regular column to Pamela Anderson. Ugh.

Jane will not be missed. It wasn't Sassy, but it stayed away from Elle/etc. territory for a while. (My favorites were the new makeup on the naked guys and how to have a one night stand.)

So disappointing that they shifted focus. They lost their market.

I know it's a typo, but I think it's fantastic that you tagged this as "jourmalism".

I agree - Jane will not be missed. At some point, the magazine became absolutely insufferable. Between Jane Pratt's namedropping and Pamela's column...ugh.

So disappointing.

It's kind of funny how so many of us tried to like Jane out of misplaced loyalty to Sassy.

Once they started with the Pam Anderson column and had indie queens like Paris and Lohan on the cover, I knew I had to let my sub expire.

I think I was one of the only people that LIKED jane. It was a refreshing change from the usual magazine. I'm sad to see it go, but sorta figured it would after Jane left and they tried to go on without her....
