Wishbook Web

I love this: Wishbook Web lets you page through old Christmas catalogs online. Think of all the happy hours you spent with these catalogs when you were a kid. It worries me that they're dying out, and our own kids won't know the joys of Christmas catalogs.

Target put out a much smaller toys-only version last Christmas, and our edition is still in the bathroom magazine rack. I still like to play the If I HAD To Get Only One Toy From Each Page game.

I don't know about little boys, but the American Girl catalog is definitely hot stuff with girls. My kid doesn't even play with dolls that much and she's got three of them that she pores through pretty regularly.

Holy cow, Gael, how do you find this stuff?

Entirely at random, I picked the 1979 Sears catalog and skimmed the pages...imagine my shock to instantly recognize both the drop-seat candy-cane-striped jammies on p. 13 AND, God help me, the SHAUN CASSIDY NIGHTIE on p. 12. Yes, my sister and I had both--the latter in a summer weight version.

I think I need to lie down for a minute!

Thanks for posting that, Gael! I cannot tell you how much fun I had looking at the '85 Wish Book! I'm still smiling. :)

I had almost every single GI Joe toy in the '85 catalogue, except for the Sears exclusives. What great memories!
