Artist Laurie Munn found a 1965 high-school yearbook set out with the trash -- a yearbook which, it later turned out, may have belonged to a man who died --possibly of an AIDS-related suicide.
She took it, and ended up painting portraits of each of the graduating seniors based on their yearbook photos. Not only that, but she's seeking out the graduates themselves for interviews. Fascinating.

That's neat...it reminds me of an exhibit that was at WSU's museum about a year ago. http://marilynlysohir.com/high.html
The artist made busts of all the women in her graduating class and the busts are based on their yearbook picture. There was also a wall of letters from a lot of them. It was so interesting to read the letters and see how their lives turned out.
