Who remembers when Ding Dongs were wrapped in foil? ME ME ME ME! Share your Ding Dong memories (King Dons? What was up with THAT?) and watch a classic commercial at GenXtinct.
2 things - 1) I hated it when I accidentally chewed on a piece of foil (shuddered just thinking about that feeling)... and 2) we always made the foil wrappers into little cubes by rubbing them on the tabletops.
I'm an entertainment editor at MSNBC.com, and have maintained Pop Culture Junk Mail since August, 1999. The New York Times called the site "one of the best places to explore pop culture online," and Entertainment Weekly included it on their Top 100 Web Sites list. If you like weird food, strange products, and 1970s and 1980s nostalgia, PCJM is your home away from home.
I have a brand new BOOK, written with Brian Bellmont. "Whatever Happened to Pudding Pops? The Lost Toys, Tastes and Trends of the '70s and '80s." Buy it online, and follow our retro reminiscing on our GenXtinct blog,Facebook, and Twitter.

Yes, and Ho-Hos were foil-wrapped as well.
I remember they were still foil wrapped in the mid-80s because I couldn't keep the ants out of them in my dorm room! Talk about disappointment!
I had a frozen Ding Dong every day for lunch, with a small mango Slush Puppy. I don't remember when they were wrapped in foil, though.
I was just complaining the other day that they are not as good when they aren't wrapped in foil. LOL
Remember? You mean they're not anymore? Sue
