Um, remind me to tell you the story about when I got stuck on a chair lift for several hours up at Whistler. I am not kidding, this really did happen to me!
I don't know whether you've seen it, but Verizon has a campaign running on Hulu right now that begins, "Three skiers are trapped on a lift." It goes on to bouncily show/describe what each of the skiers are doing on their Verizon phones in the downtime. I keep wondering whether the ad firm that put it together did so knowing about that Frozen movie or not. Like, if only the girl in the movie had Verizon instead of AT&T, she wouldn't have torn all the skin off her palms on the safety bar? Bluh!
I'm an entertainment editor at MSNBC.com, and have maintained Pop Culture Junk Mail since August, 1999. The New York Times called the site "one of the best places to explore pop culture online," and Entertainment Weekly included it on their Top 100 Web Sites list. If you like weird food, strange products, and 1970s and 1980s nostalgia, PCJM is your home away from home.
I have a brand new BOOK, written with Brian Bellmont. "Whatever Happened to Pudding Pops? The Lost Toys, Tastes and Trends of the '70s and '80s." Buy it online, and follow our retro reminiscing on our GenXtinct blog,Facebook, and Twitter.
