Gael - Would you be willing to share the details of how you planned the party? Did you provide all the ingredients and recipes? What games did you play, if any? It sounds like a fantastic idea, and I totally want to copy it! Thanks!
I kind of winged it! We picked two recipes, one basic tomato, one black bean and mango. Once we knew how many were coming, I asked each person to bring some ingredients (and a knife, and jars to take their share home). As people arrived, I put them to work chopping. We took a break for lunch partway through, then combined the ingredients in a small batch, sampled it, and added this and that, then made larger batches. As people left, they took some home. No games, but I did decorate with a chili pepper theme. It was really fun!
