It looked familiar to me, as well. Then I realized the bodice is almost exactly the same as my best friend's mom wore when she got married in 1956. They always had their big wedding portrait on display in their living room, so I must have seen it thousands of times over the years. Her's was ballerina-length, though.
I think it's an hommage to Grace Kelley's dress.
