Hi, future man!

A Seattle homeowner found a note in the wall left by a previous owner in 1973. "I hope your world is a little bit better than ours," he wrote.

Is it? In some ways, not in others.

And now I want to hide notes in my walls.

My dad is a cabinetmaker who specializes in period reproduction furniture and fireplace mantels. When I used to help him, whenever we'd install something he would always write on the wall behind it or leave a note in a hollow space if the piece had one. It's always something like "Hello from the year 2010" or "R and J P___ built this on the day XX happened". We got the idea from finding stuff like that in the house I grew up in, which was a beautiful old Victorian.
