What we wanted for Christmas in 1975

What we wanted for Christmas in 1975.

Although I don't think anyone really wanted Toughskins, that trio of plaids is hilarious.

The craze for ventriloquist dolls seemed to have died out completely. BUT LOOK! Hugo, Man of a Thousand Faces, perhaps the most popular toy in our entire book.

And really, the rest is pure awesome. CB radios! Creepy headphones that look like giant ears! Evel Knievel Stunt Kit! An Easy Bake Oven that is a Pizza Hut Pizza Oven! Guns! Corduroy!

Did you have any of these treasures?

And remember, if you're on Facebook, like us there for even more retro fun.

Maybe not the Toughskins ... but it would seem that in 1975, a 13-year old kid named Jeff Dunham might have received the ventriloquist doll and thought, "I'm too old for this" but decided to make a career out of it anyway. In 1975, I thought the old guys and gals doing ventriloquism were sure to be vestiges of the era of vaudeville, but apparently, I was wrong!!

we had those pajamas with the bunny mask when I was little, I was just born in 1975 though, so they must have made them for years to come. I totally forgot about that bunny mask until just seeing it now but we played with that thing until it fell apart.

This picture is not one of the ones you listed, but it's from the same catalog. I had the dress in the middle. The skirt was lovely red velvet, and I was sad to outgrow it.

I remember seeing ventriloquist dummies around in the '70s, but they were not something I or any one I knew ever wanted. CB radios, on the other hand, were high on the list. 10-4, good buddy! I got a "base station" one Christmas, which was a kids' version of a CB. You could actually talk to truckers on it. It was also amazing to learn how many people talked dirty and tried to hook up over the airwaves!!

I also wound up with Toughskins too (zzzzz...)
