So I finally ponied up another $5 to WeatherUnderground.com. (The weather site, not the 1960s-1970s radical organization, though it's weird to me that the weather site, which I assume is the newer of the two, would use the name of a group that advocated the overthrow of the U.S. government.)
I think membership is totally worth it: For $5, you get a year's membership which means you can use their great weather site with no ads, and you can save an enormous number of cities in your personal list. Then when you surf to the site, you see the temperature and forecast for all your favorite cities at once.
My friends and family are so scattered that I love being able to, in one glance, see all their weather conditions. I also include cities that are special favorites of mine, for their weather or otherwise. My list includes Seattle; Minneapolis; Woodland Hills, CA; Arlington, VA; London; Tokyo; NYC; Dublin; San Francisco; Mesa, Arizona; Barrow, Alaska; Butte, Montana (don't ask) and other cities. Right now the temps range from 100 (Mesa) to 38 (Barrow). At 10 p.m., Seattle is nicely in the middle at 65.
