Stay deeee-mented

If there's such a thing as appointment television, there even occasionally is appointment radio. I used to try to not miss Dr. Demento, loving the weird songs and parodies, but then it disappeared from the radio in Minnesota, and I could never find it in Seattle.

But O happy day -- apparently I can listen to three archived shows online. Fish heads, fish heads, roly-poly fish heads.

OMG..I thought I was the only one who actually missed Dr. Demento. That show was the only thing that got me through being 13 years old and staying in Winthrop, Minnesota. I didn't have to stay in Winthrop long, which was a mixed blessing..now the memory of that town is sweet...then...sheer hell...with the added bonus of being the preachers grand daughter.

Favorite songs

1. Space Invaders
2. Fishheads
3. Any thing by Spike Jones

Gael,

Longtime listner, first time caller. You'll probably love this site. It's an ongoing project to archive all of the good Doctor's shows and there are a ton that are archived and can be listened to.

Oh, Justin, you're my new hero! I remember listening to the Dr. every Sunday night during my high school years (a long, long time ago). What a treat to see so many in the archive!
