What the--

This is quite possibly horrible news for those of us who love our TiVos. Programs we can't record? Programs that can't be recorded after 7 days? Big Brother is indeed watching, and he doesn't want you to.

That's some bullshit right there. Hacker code to disable those "features" in five ... four ... three ...

I disagree with "the great thing about TiVo is that it enables you to own television instead of the other way around."

If you require a tivo to manage your TV watching, that says to me that TV does indeed own you. I can see the value of tivo to someone like you whose profession depends on watching a lot of TV, but for the average person, I don't see the necessity. The outrageous sense of entitlement so many people posess today baffles me.

Yeah, especially when people feel entitled to judge other people's worth based entirely on their television viewing habits. I hate that.

I require a Tivo so that I can watch anything and so I can do so without having to sit through the commercials. I have two children under the age of three. If I EVER want to watch anything, a game, a show, etc. the Tivo is a necessity. You never know when one of them will need something. With the Tivo I can stop it live and take care of things or catch up later.

Before, when I had a (different) life, I wouldn't have needed it but I do love it now. It must be nice to be able to do whatever you want, whenever you want. The tv doesn't own me--my kids do!

It's a bug, people. Sorry about that. We'll fix it (and Macrovision's and our testing process that let it slip through) with the next release.
