Sigh

Scott Peterson doesn't want Laci's parents to get her life insurance money. Because, you know, his conviction could still be overturned on appeal.

This reminds me of the "Doonesbury" strip where Lacey Davenport is talking to her maid about the early days of Harlem. Lacey remembers when it was a glamorous place, with the Cotton Club jumping and everyone dressed to the nines, while her maid remembers Harlem "only as a place to give up hope."

After a moment's silence, Lacey says "Have no fear, Harlem will rise again."

And her maid says "Yes'm, so will Jesus, but I ain't waiting up nights."

All I'm saying is: Don't be waiting up nights for that reversal, Scott. Don't be waiting up nights.
