Reunited, and it feels so good

OK, I confess: My big treat for myself after a long night working was to let myself watch tonight's TiVoed "Reunion" on FOX.

The show has been off for three or four weeks, and I was relived to have it come back. Yeah, I know it's cheesy and predictable and soap operay, but I love the '80s and I love the whole one-year-an-episode concept. I try not to mind that every plot twist is telegraphed as if it was sent by Western Union. I can tolerate the horrible-acting Tom Cruise lookalike and the hairful Rebecca Gayheart lookalike. And it goes without saying I love Will Estes, late of dearly departed "American Dreams." I hope this show makes it through a whole season without being canceled.

And every time they trumpet their little preview ads about someone murdered on the night of their 20th reunion, it jolts me back to my own 20-year reunion just a month ago, and what a blast it was. Thankfully, no one was murdered, although between my best friend Lisa and I, we did manage to kill off a bottle of Champagne and one of red wine.

I have been watching too! I also attended high school in the 80s, and love the idea of each episode being an entire year. Cheesy, silly, and all that, but it is fun escapist tv!

Yay! So nice to know I'm not the only one in love with the cheese that is Reunion. I think I love it because it reminds of me of every other Christopher Pike novel I ever read.

I like it too, and I think I have successfully convinced myself that it's getting better. At least, the next few episodes will feature the actors actually playing characters close to their age, and that has to be better, right? I didn't realize they were supposed to be high school students until the second episodes. I think it is Sam who is murdered at the reunion, only because they have been spending so much time developing her character and trying to make us care about her. Can't say the same for the other girl- what's her name? Hailey from the O.C. I wish it was Craig who got murdered.

I loved American Dreams, too, and was very upset that it was gone. But now "JJ" is on this show, and the mom is on "Hot Properties" on ABC (another reason to watch--Pamie writes for it!). Glad to know I wasn't the only one who misses American Dreams.

I'm loving this cheese-fest too! NotTomCruise is truly terrible, but I really like NotClaireDanes and NotRebeccaGayheart. I never saw American Dreams, but Will Estes is pretty cute, and they're doing the best job of aging and de-aging him.
