Toilet paper blast from the past

OK, who's with me remembering these Northern toilet-tissue packages from 1974? It seems to me they had this little-girls-with-pastel-colors packaging forever, but I guess not.

Funny how a product as ordinary as toilet paper can send your mind reeling back like Marcel Proust on an overdose of madeleines.

Holy cow. I completely forgot about that design, and, if I am remembering right, I knew the dark-haired girl who modeled for it, Natasha Ryan! Unless I made that up in my mind when I was a kid because the drawiing looked so much like her.

My mom actually cut out two of the many designs from Northern tissue and I guess decouppaged (sp?) them on to wood plaques to hang in my room. I don't think it ever really occurred to me till now that it was kind of a weird thing to do -- she just thought they were pretty, I guess! I had them till I was in high school...

I didn't even have to click on the link to suddenly recall, from the depths of my brain, EXACTLY what design you were referring to! Unbelievable the crap that is stored up there.
