No whining

So do you know about Woot.com? They offer a deal on one product at a time, and when it's gone, it's gone. I've known about it for a while, but never saw anything I wanted on it.

I just found out there's a Woot Wine. It's pretty interesting because the winemakers themselves sometimes post about their product and answer readers' questions. And their ad copy trying to sell the wine is just hilarious. Example"

"Two years ago, a crack grape trio was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn’t commit. These wines promptly escaped from a maximum security cellar into the Templeton Gap underground in Paso Robles, California. Today, still wanted by wine lovers everywhere, they survive as beverages of fortune. If you’re thirsty, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can drink…the J-Team."

I'm unlikely to buy wine here since I'm not knowledgable enough about it, but it's cool anyway.

One of the neat things about Wine Woot is that there are a lot of folks who post there who do know their stuff when it come to wine - so if you see something that looks interesting and you read through the comments you can probably get a good idea on what to expect. I've bought 1 Wine Woot (4 bottles for $29.99) but have yet to crack a bottle. But for what I paid, it will have to taste pretty crappy not to have been worth it. I'm more familiar with regular Woot - if you are patient and lucky it can really pay off!
