We've finally found a name for Rob's Japanese sports car, after owning it for four years: This weekend, unable to get a certain Flaming Lips tune out of my head, I dubbed it "Yoshimi."
As in: "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots":
Her name is Yoshimi,
She's a blackbelt in karate
Working for the city
She has to discipline her body
'Cause she knows that
It's demanding
to defeat those evil machines
I know she can beat them,
Oh Yoshimi, they don't believe me
but you won't let those robots eat me,
Yoshimi, they don't believe me
but you won't let those robots defeat me.

Awesome. My husband and I were unable to agree on a name for our Prius this summer, and I wanted to name her Lola (after the Chris Smither song [http://www.lyricsandsongs.com/song/616339.html]), and he wanted to name her Yoshimi. We decided that the compromise is that she is Lola, unless she has to kick ass in inclement weather, in which case she is Yoshimi. Yoshimi is a great name for a car.
