Check it out: A new Minnesota Twins stadium, and an outdoor one to boot.
Cold weather, schmold weather, I've been waiting for this since Sid Hartman and crew first forced the Dome down our throats when I was still in grade school.
Thanks to my very kind brother-in-law, who wrangled us tickets back in '82, I was at the first-ever regular-season Twins game in the Metrodome. The pipes burst or something and there was water all over the steps. And the Twins lost.
I've seen some great games there, even watching the Twinks win the 1991 World Series there. I've gone over there to do interviews when I wrote for Minnesota Twins Magazine, and I've even been down on the turf playing volleyball with my company team, but I've never grown to love the dang place the way we did outdoor Met Stadium. Whatever flaws the new place has, I'm so ready to give it a shot.

Nothing was more fun than watching for someone who'd bought the jumbo popcorn to hit the pressure differential.
