So Sassy

I'm reading this book about "How Sassy Changed My Life." It's full of stuff that interests me, but yet it kind of reads like a college term paper, not like a real book.

Elizabeth Larsen, a friend of mine who used to work with me at Twin Cities Sidewalk, was Jane Pratt's first assistant at Sassy, and it's both fun and jolting to see references to her throughout the book. What an awesome first job to look back on.

I am dying to read this book! If it were not midnight I'd be over at Borders right now!!

I find it funny that in the review it says that the tone of the book is one of looking down on other teen mags of the time...because so many of the writers work for those same mags now. Heh.

Well, it's hard to get on the Jane Pratt love train since she bailed on Sassy before it even closed up shop.

One of the coolest things ever is the spine line on the July '94 issue: "You Want Fries With That?"

They knew what was coming.
