Horsing around

"Latawnya, the Naughty Horse, Learns to Say No to Drugs."

Not sure which is funnier, the non-poem that opens the book, the abysmal prose, or the photo of the horses smoking. No, I do know: It's the abysmal prose, especially this line:

"Connie started smoking drugs (*smoking drugs?) and drinking, and Connie's sisters also started smoking drugs and drinking; so when Latawnya, the naughty horse saw Connie smoking drugs and drinking, Latawnya started smoking drugs and drinking too."

Wow, there sure are a lot of horses smoking drugs and drinking in that sentence. Also don't miss the comments, especially "I was unaware of the massive drug problem amongst horses," "So the naughty horse's name is Latawnya? That is a black person name if I ever heard one. This book is racist," and "Also, why are they horses? The only animal less suited to lighting a cigarette would have to be a snake."

The best comment was from the person who thought the horses' drug of choice would have been heroin. Awesome.

Wait, so is Latawnya naughty? I'm not quite sure.

That is brilliant. Great find.
