I was vehemently anti-soap opera until my dear friend Ann and her sisters got me hooked on "The Young & the Restless" in high school, when I would hang out at her house more than I did my own.
Longtime Y&R watchers will remember Victor's buddy, Colonel Douglas Austin, who was on the show from 1980-1995. The actor who played him, British-born Michael Evans, who also starred with Audrey Hepburn in "Gigi," has died at age 87.
