I'm kind of gleeful to see Hardee's getting all this negative publicity for its disgustingly high-calorie food, because that is flat-out the nastiest fast-food chain in existence. No question.

Agreed! When I moved to the south I assumed it would be at least a little similar to Carl's Jr. So very wrong I was.
I loved Hardees when I lived in the south, but mainly because they had the best sweet iced tea anywhere. And the hot ham n' cheese was a lot like Carls Jr. (the only sandwich I'd eat at either place.)
I'd have to put Jack In The Box on the top of my "worst ever" list. To each his/her own...
I'm not a fan of Hardee's, especially the breakfast menu, as it is pretty greasy and heavy. But I am a little baffled by the pearl-clutching that "it has 900 calories!" Because if it weren't on the menu, and I were really that hungry (and/or gluttonous) I wouldn't buy three smaller 300-calorie burritos instead? I wouldn't figure it out? It's not like anyone is going to look at that burrito and think it's diet food.
I'm an entertainment editor at MSNBC.com, and have maintained Pop Culture Junk Mail since August, 1999. The New York Times called the site "one of the best places to explore pop culture online," and Entertainment Weekly included it on their Top 100 Web Sites list. If you like weird food, strange products, and 1970s and 1980s nostalgia, PCJM is your home away from home.
I have a brand new BOOK, written with Brian Bellmont. "Whatever Happened to Pudding Pops? The Lost Toys, Tastes and Trends of the '70s and '80s." Buy it online, and follow our retro reminiscing on our GenXtinct blog,Facebook, and Twitter.
