Did you know that "Mandy," the song that was such a wonderfully sappy hit for Barry Manilow, was originally a hit as "Brandy" in the UK, for Scott English?
But then "Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)" came out, and Barry tweaked the name to avoid confusion.
And it was never about a dog! She's a fine girl! Wait, that's the other song...
