WSIB is scarier than the mob... As soon as I recognise one of their commericials, I'm scrambling for the remote, or running from the room, leaving a giant, Vicky-shaped hole in the wall.
Dear God! I was not sufficiently prepared for the actual horror of that advertisement! I love the brief cut to her artfully-scarred face. And I guess I can applaud their restraint in refraining from showing her aflame.
Also, I know that she won't be getting married this weekend, cause, too soon, right? But I think that the advertisement implies that she won't be getting married full-stop, nor will she be able to chef again? *slowly gets it* Oh, she is going to die?!
I hate these ads they're so horrible. I get the point the WSIB is trying to make but its too gory for TV IMO. There are at least 2 more of these but this one is definitely the worst.
I'm an entertainment editor at MSNBC.com, and have maintained Pop Culture Junk Mail since August, 1999. The New York Times called the site "one of the best places to explore pop culture online," and Entertainment Weekly included it on their Top 100 Web Sites list. If you like weird food, strange products, and 1970s and 1980s nostalgia, PCJM is your home away from home.
I have a brand new BOOK, written with Brian Bellmont. "Whatever Happened to Pudding Pops? The Lost Toys, Tastes and Trends of the '70s and '80s." Buy it online, and follow our retro reminiscing on our GenXtinct blog,Facebook, and Twitter.

I live in Canada, as soon as I saw
the title of your post, I knew what it was - didn't even have to look.
It's horrifying (and one of a series of scary "safety first" commercials)
