Allan Melvin, a.k.a. Sam the butcher on "The Brady Bunch" and Barney on "All in the Family," amidst a score of other famous character roles, is dead at 84.
What a fun career that guy had. I also loved him as Magilla Gorilla.
He's now waiting for Ann B. Davis at Heaven's Meatcutters' Ball.

In the meantime, he can catch up with his pal Archie Bunker at his "Place" in Heaven.

BTW, is it me or is it ironic that the actor who played Sam in the Brady Bunch movie beat the TV Sam to that great meat deli in the sky by a good 5 years?
Oh well. Gotta cheer up now. By the way, good site. :)
