When we drove through the South in 2004, one of the photos we snapped was of a casino (I think?) called Sharkheads, in Mississippi. It was a neat picture because the building had a giant (fake) shark head surrounding the entrance, so when you walked in it was like the shark was eating you.
Spotting it along the side of the road cracked it up.
A year and a half later, Hurricanes Katrina and Rita swept through, and someone posted a photo of Sharkheads after the storms. It didn't come through very well. I wonder if it's been rebuilt? Their Web site doesn't seem to indicate that it was.

This reminds me of the original lion's head entrance of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Rumor has it that the entrance was redesigned because Asian gamblers (who made up a significant part of the clientele) considered entering a lion's mouth bad luck.
The shark was way cooler though.
Sharkheads was never a casino--it was a tourist shop that sold bikinis, t-shirts, surfboards, etc. They have not been re-built after Katrina. There was too much damage and not enough money to rebuild.
Im from the area. They are working to rebuild with the new restrictions
