My MSNBC.com tribute to Harvey Korman.
His death made me go hunting for "The Carol Burnett Show" on DVD. While it doesn't look like you can buy whole seasons, there are a lot of individual tapes and sets to choose from.
Rob and I will obviously need to invest in some for those days when we're reciting lines from the show ("Mrs. Uh-Wiggins!" "Mr. Tudball!" "Ah saw it in the winder and jest couldn't resist.") and Kelly and her little pals are staring at us like we're from the moon. Not the moon, kid, just from the '70s. It wasn't a bad place, really, and some pretty cool and funny people kept us company there. Wish you could have known them all.

RIP Harvey. He was always hilarious! I think I'll have to pull my Blazing Saddles DVD out tonight and watch in memory of Harvey.
Brilliant man - wonderful in Blazing Saddles, and of course the skits on Carol Burnett are extraordinary. I think the Went With the Wind video is on YouTube...
That headline makes Korman sound a little bit self-regarding. Mostly it was other people, particularly Tim Conway, who were making him laugh.
I think mark's right. The fact that Conway could keep a straight face (most of the time) and Korman could not was hilarious. What a great guy -- he will be missed for sure.
I will miss Harvey so much. He, Carol and Tim were the folks who introduced me to comedy. As a kid, 4 or 5 years old, I would watch them on TV from behind the couch while my mom and dad watched the Carol Burnett show. I knew I wasn't supposed to be up, but I just had to watch. When I watch clips from that show, powerful memories from that time in my life come back to me.
RIP, Harvey. You will be missed.
