The writer doesn't wax all eloquent, but it's not an impersonal piece either. He just describes the man's job and lets that speak for itself.
Reminds me of the best pieces in Studs Terkel's magnificent "Working," which I really should re-read someday.
It also leaves me wondering what happened to the 40-year-old daycare owner who cosigned on a friend's loan to "do him a favor" and didn't know that he was being foreclosed on.
