Seattle namesake

I have never met anyone else who spells her first name as I do, GAEL. (Although I met someone whose sister reportedly did.)

So I'm always secretly entertained when I see mention of another GAEL in print, as in this Seattle P-I article about the rare heat wave here.

Speaking of...I know it's not Arizona or Florida hot, but Miss Kelly was baptized in an un-airconditioned church on Saturday, and even the priest, WHO IS FROM KENYA, was sweating up a storm. That is officially Africa-hot, when your Kenyan priest is overheated.

There's a baby in my son's daycare room named Gael--a little boy. He's Hispanic, and it's pronounced "Guy-el." Not sure if it's a common Latino name, but it's very sweet!

How hot has it been in Seattle? I thought the whole point of living there was that it never really went above 77 or something...

I love seeing my name too, although I know the rest of the Brianne's have nicknames that rhyme with a cheese but my name is prounounced like the masculine "Brian".

My mom's nickname is weird too; Patricia is shortened to Patt. There's a Patt Morrison here in Los Angeles on NPR and I wish I could meet her just to talk about it.

Ian Anderson, of Jethro Tull reknown, named his daughter Gael; she's probably near your age, and married to actor Andrew Lincoln. They have a daughter close to your Kelly's age, too.
