Not Martha taste-tests Oreos, Hydrox and Newman-Os.
I think I'd put Oreos at the top, but Newman-Os are pretty darn close (RIP, Paul Newman). Hydrox to me don't even belong in the same taste test. I'd probably rank all the other chocolate sammich cookies in your grocer's aisle higher than the Drox.

Trader Joe's brand, Joe Joe's are far superior to any of the others.
I have to agree with the comments on the not martha blog, Trader Joe's Jo Jo's are the best!
All due respect to Paul Newman, I do NOT support any chocolate sandwich cookie that is not the Oreo. I don't know why other cookies even bother, frankly. Hee.
I just did a taste test at work today of Oreos Vs Hydrox. The main consensus was that Oreos have superior filling, but Hyrdox has a superior cookie. BUT, the Oreos were pretty bad and may have been old (the date on the box showed November 2, 2008, but they were pretty stale tasting), so probably not fair.
Also not fair that I grew up with Hydrox, and the waxy filling seems normal to me.
If I have to have non-Oreo chocolate sandwich cookies, I eat Trader Joe's.
However, Newman-O's Ginger-O's are just about the most delicious thing on earth. I could eat a whole package in one sitting.
In fact, I may buy some when I'm out doing my errands today.
