"There were...no survivors."

The "M*A*S*H" episode where Henry Blake departs the 4077th, and never makes it home, is one of the most heartbreaking TV shows of all time.

Snopes.com investigates how many of the cast knew about the scene ahead of time, and how many were surprised, thus reacting as instantaneously as Blake's real friends would have.

This is truly my favorite M*A*S*H episode, and that's really saying something since so many, many episodes are worth mentioning. I clearly remember the shock when I first saw the episode. I was a young teenager and completely enthralled with the show from its first episode. This episode gutted me. I talked about it for days with anyone who would listen.
