I love a (wo)man in uniform

In The Uniform Project, a woman wears the same dress every day for a year, dressing it up with accessories and so on to make it look different.

She'll probably get a book deal out of this if she hasn't already, but hello! We Catholic schoolgirls did this for FOUR YEARS (more if you count grade school) and no one paid us any attention.

The reminds me a little of the Brown Dress project from a few years ago, where the artist had just one dress (not seven identical ones).

Sr. Jean would have sent me directly home if I had "accessorized" my uniform to this degree. Changing tights, shoes, and jewelry is one thing, but when it's a whole dress under the "uniform", it isn't a uniform anymore.

actually, I think someone already got the book deal -- it was called Little Brown Dress (I think) and the woman wrote about wearing the same dress every day for a year. . .most people never even noticed!

re: Catholic schoolgirls - Seriously! I wore the same thing every day from 1st grade to 12th and all I have to show for it is a poorly developed fashion sense.
