Apparently there's almost a cult around the grill/smoker The Big Green Egg. People love them and make almost anything possible on them.
They're pricey (about $1000), and we don't grill enough to make it worthwhile, but it's interesting to me that people love them so much. They do sound really cool.
They have an online forum where people discuss their Eggs and share recipes and tips, and even a fest where fans get together, chat, and eat.

My Gran had a red one, must've been one of the originals from the '70's. But I don't remember it ever being used. I'll have to ask my parents--I wonder what happened to it after she passed?
