Now, if Boomerang can rerun "Banana Splits," why can't it pick up "Gilligan's Planet"?
Seriously, what kid of the 1970s wouldn't TiVo this, even though we may not remember watching it the first time around. And based on the credits, it features most if not all (no Tina Louise?) of the original actors voicing their now-cartoon characters!

There are a couple of episodes at guba.com.
It's just how I remember it.
Another futuristic update of older material like Partridge Family 2200 A.D. or Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space.
Still better than that Laverne and Shirley cartoon where they're in the Army with Alice the Goon.
I'd love to know the behind the scenes on that (and the earlier "Gilligan's Island" cartoon from the same producers)...
...since Tina Louise wasn't a voice actor, I've always wondered if that's why they had to animate Ginger as having white hair instead of red hair (which would make it less T.L.'s "likeness").
They changed Louise's hair color to ensure that she couldn't sue them for using her likeness on the series. Here's some more info.
She wasn't very happy on the original sitcom and distanced herself from it immediately. If Gilligan's Island went for a fourth season, it's likely that she would have left the show. For that reason, I'm glad that it was canceled prematurely.
