“Smile Pinki,” which won the Oscar for best short documentary, airs on HBO tomorrow night. It tells the true story of a young Indian girl born with a cleft lip who receives life-changing surgery and is by all reports an outstanding movie.
When the Oscars aired, there was no word on how people could see this film since shorts don’t really play mainstream theaters, so this is kind of a rare chance.
