Oh Liiiiiisa! When our kids are a little bigger, we need to make a trip back to NYC and stop at Dylan's Candy Bar. I have a feeling the moms will be buying more (weird) candy than the kids.
Boing Boing posted a link to a fun Flickr gallery of shots from Dylan's Candy Bar here, and they are really making me want to plan a trip. What fun it must be to be a buyer for this store!

It's overpriced. A better bet, for nostalgia, history and price, is Economy Candy on the Lower East Side. It's been there forever, and you'll find yourself stunned when you see treats you haven't seen since you were a kid, and assumed they didn't even make any more. It's not as big as Dylan's, but in my book it's a thousand times better.
Agree with Growler on the overpriced. They have done a wonderful job with decor, but they're not much better stocked than the Candy Candy place you'd find at most malls. That said, the decor and even the shopping bags are adorable. And I guess it's becoming an NYC must-see; the candy equivalent of FAO Schwartz.
