Literary comfort food

Oh, I know it's more like literary Twinkies, even, than literary comfort food, but I just have to say: I will read anything Alexander McCall Smith writes, any time.

They can come take away my English degree now if they have to.

(I used to mostly love the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency Series, but now I'm kinda waiting eagerly for the next Isabel Dalhousie, having just finished this.)

In addition to Mma Ramotswe, I'm particularly partial to the 44 Scotland Street stories. There's a kind of peaceful calm to his writing that I find very relaxing.
