This is why I don't watch "The Real World" any more

I once loved "The Real World," but then it went completely off the cliff, as Jezebel aptly depicts with videos and text.

The best is when Brooke, from some season I don't remember watching, calls her mom sobbing about how she's paying $700 rent in California while living in the RW house. Her mom says "you only pay $438," and then Brooke says "Utilities!"

To which her mom says, "You don't pay those, I do," and then Brooke tries to change the subject.
