No harbor was his home

Did you know there was a real woman who probably inspired "Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)"?

Wikipedia claims that Mary Ellis was ditched by a sea captain, and every day she rode to the sea to wait for him (sound a little like Japan's beloved Hachiko, but hell, he was a DOG).

Check out that photo. Her grave is right next to a movie-theater parking lot? New Jerseyites, do you know about this? Leave a rose for the real Brandy the next time you're checking out the latest "Saw" flick.

You have got to be kidding! It is located in the parking lot of a movie theater about 1 mile from my house (on the banks of the Raritan River). Before the movie theater was built the entire site was an indoor flea market. I can't tell you how many time I parked next to this stone.

I live in New Brunswick,NJ and yes, the grave is there. It's elevated in the back parking lot. Kind of creepy and cool at the same time.
