Freedom Foot

I have a great Taschen collection of 1970s ads, one of which is for the Freedom Foot, a pendant in the shape of Kunta Kinte's amputated foot that was actually sold. I guess you wore it as a sign of ... black power? Sense of history in your Africanness?

Not sure, but wearing an amputated foot around your neck is a wee bit gross under any circumstances.

That foot is weird. Maybe it was only sold in England.

Sorry I saw that ad for Leeds and thought this was aaa magazine from England. Still weird.
