What kind of guy is named "Rosey" anyway?

Scrubbles pointed me to these pages from Rosey Grier's Needlepoint for Men.

Heh. It reminds me of when Deacon Jones was on "The Brady Bunch," and he lashed out at the bully who was teasing Peter for singing in the choir (calling him a "canary"), telling him about all the big football players who sang.

As I recall, Carol was often needlepointing on that show, so Rosey could have hung out with her and her often-talked-about but never-seen friend, Martha. (The one who wouldn't come back to the phone once, so Mike had to use the one-episode family pay phone to do some big business deal. Ah, the Brady universe was a complicated and tangled one, it was.)
