Aw, true, a woman's best friend is her cat, but shouldn't Liz be a little more freaked out about the day she just had? Get thee to the Mounties, woman, and report that creep!
And when she says "why does LOVE have to be so complicated," do we take that as a sign that Liz loves Anthony? (First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes Therese with a restraining order...oh, wait)
Liz is handling this all with a stunning indifference, almost. How she ever felt like going off to a park with Anthony and lolling around under a tree hearing about his marital woes after having JUST BEEN ATTACKED is beyond me. Maybe they're growing some really tranquilizing plants at Lawrence's Landscaping, if you know what I mean and I think you do.
Also, why does Shiimsa's head grow to about three times its size in panel three, then shrink back down?

Is Liz in shock? On sedatives? A robot? I dunno...This storyline is going from sloppy to irresponsible at a troubling rate.
Well according to:
"Anonymous said...
She will talk to the cat then it's off to April at the farm. "
I guess on Monday we'll see April on the farm. --- Yawn.
I can't believe Lynn is treating this the way she is so far (well maybe I can, but it's upsetting). I would have liked, at the very minimum, to have seen a strip with Liz talking to the police, and another seeing her upset/crying and then resolving not to let it get the best of her. Something, anything to make it look real.
It amazes me that her attack, sorry "going after", seems to be regarded more as a complication than an issue to be dealt with. Seriously, I can imagine her swooning on the chaise right now.
Even though it's Saturday, as soon as I read the strip, I grabbed my computer to see what was being posted here. :)
And mad props to the person who guessed Liz would be talking to her cat today.
Maybe she'll convert the guy who tried to rape her to goodness and marry him, like in that book Pamela.
Shimsa's head gets bigger to show that she likes Liz, I think. the cats who live with me do that, too. It's like whatever part of their body is petted grows, then shrinks again when they are done with me. But Liz must be in shock. She's too young to know that no man can leave a woman unless he's got another one on the line. I hope she holds out for Warren, too. anthony's too good of an old friend to marry.
i want to read about something other than FBOFW. I'm bored with this, as i don't read the strip. and now i find myself not looking forward to checking PCJM each day for fear that the talk will be centered around something i don't know or care about, yet again! can we get back to weird foods and quirky stuff?
Now I'm reading the strip every day. I still can't tell the characters apart but it's getting fascinating going from the strip here. I'm a daily reader of both now.
Sorry, Anonymous, but I have to point out that I don't normally update on Friday nights, so you're hardly missing out on other posts. And every other day that I've posted about FBOFW it's been in ADDITION to 4+ other topics, so I'm hardly devoting the site to it. It's just...so...unbelievable.
Gael, I'm glad that you are posting about this strip, which is one I've enjoyed for years. I also read the strip and then pop over here to see what people are thinking about what's happened next. It's fun to hear a variety of perspectives.
I had always thought (and hoped) that maybe Liz and Anthony would get together, but no more. If Therese had left him, and he went to Liz that would be one thing, but for him to give up on his marriage totally turned me against him. Marriage is not for sissies. And he's acting like one. The fact that he decided to spill his guts just after the "going after" was selfish. (Does anyone remember why A and L broke up all those years ago--I've forgotten.)
I'm rooting for Warren (or someone new) to be the love of Elizabeth's life.
I'd be interesting in knowing why she broke up with Anthony, too. Don't worry about the few critics, Gael -- the rest of us are rivited!
Yes, please keep posting about FBOFW... I love reading what you have to say about the strip, particularly as I think your take is spot-on!
Anon, you can always just scroll down and read some other posts if you don't want to read about FBOFW. That's the beauty of the net- it's not a live radio show that you can't fast-forward through.
And I do remember Gael warning folks on the notify list if the only post up was a FBOFW one, so they could skip it if they liked.
I don't even read FBOFW(the last time I did, Liz's brother and his wife were moving into a new apartment--riveting!); but, I do like reading about it here.
But, you know, if that's wrong, I don't want to be right.
