Been through the desert on a song with no name

So what exactly does America's "Horse With No Name" mean? Is it about heroin addiction? Death? A real horse? That's the topic being argued at SongMeanings.net.

What's funny to me is how angry the various commenters get. Someone will lay out a well-reasoned explanation as to why it's not about heroin and someone will post "Horse means heroin" and then someone else will post "!$%@!# dude, it is NOT about HEROIN!"

people who argue on the internet don't hold back the insults. The "Red vs. Blue" internet vs. reality sketch covered that in their politics section. In the real world, people argue civilized, on the internet they say things like "Die and burn!" http://gprime.net/video.php/reallifevsinternet

*Snicker* I have no idea what the song is about (and frankly I don't _care_), but when it was first recorded, a DJ in my town thought it was a pity that the poor horse didn't have a name. So he named it Norma. Now, whenever I think about the song, all I can think of is the DJ and Norma, the horse.

I only have one comment for losers like that - get a life. You are arguing about a song. A song, mind you, that NONE of you really know what it means, or what it's all REALLY about. Besides, knowing what the song does, or does not mean is not going to change a thing in the scheme of life - so who really gives a rats rump?
