And it's only slightly marred by the fact that I do have to cover the "Apprentice" finale later tonight (damn you, Donald Trump!), but other than that, it's a happy, happy December 15, and unlike my Minnesota days, it is not covered in snow.
Besides being my birthday, it is also:
--Bill of Rights Day...enjoy 'em while ya still got 'em!
--Nero's birthday (fiddle while your candles burn!)
--Tim Conway's birthday (but not Harvey Korman's)
--Rich guy J. Paul Getty's birthday (he was born in Mpls, I was born in St. Paul)
--Author Betty Smith's birthday ("A Tree Grows in Brooklyn")
--Irish author Edna O'Brien's birthday ("The Country Girls," etc.)
--Alan Freed's birthday (On one hand, payola. On the other, the term "rock n roll.")
--It's also the birthday of Dave Clark, Don Johnson, and Adam Brody
--Walt Disney died on this day, a year before I arrived on the scene
--It was the Battle of Nashville during the Civil War
--"Gone with the Wind" premiered in Atlanta. Black cast members were not allowed at the premiere in the segregated South.
